Chief, Abdominal Transplant Program Division of Immunology & Organ Transplantation
The Transplant Leadership Institute, in partnership with the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston), is seeking a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Immunology & Organ Transplantation. This leader will advance the division’s clinical, research, and educational missions.
The Abdominal Transplantation Program operates under a shared governance model between Memorial Hermann Hospital and McGovern Medical School, offering a comprehensive range of advanced inpatient and outpatient services, including both surgical and nonsurgical care, for patients requiring abdominal organ transplants.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates for this role will possess the following qualifications:
- A medical degree with fellowship training in abdominal transplant surgery from an American Society of Transplant Surgeons-accredited program.
- Eligibility for a Texas Medical License.
- UNOS certification or eligibility as a Primary Surgeon.
- Academic leadership experience within a school of medicine.
- Qualifications for appointment as a senior-level faculty member.
- A proven track record of managing a clinical abdominal transplant practice.
- Demonstrated success in leading research initiatives, training programs, and interdisciplinary teams.
