President/Executive Director

DonorConnect headquartered in the Salt Lake City area, in partnership with Transplant Leadership Institute, seeks a dynamic executive to serve as its next President and Executive Director. As the non-profit organ procurement organization serving Utah, southeastern Idaho, western Wyoming, and Elko, Nevada, DonorConnect works collaboratively with more than 90 hospitals to save lives through organ and tissue donation. DonorConnect has been ranked as a Tier 1 performer, in the top 25 percent of OPOs nationally, by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This opportunity is available due to the upcoming retirement of Tracy Schmidt, who has served as the OPO’s Executive Director for over 29 years.
The position is responsible for leading the organization and establishing and executing the major strategic goals and objectives for DonorConnect along with providing recommendations to the Board of Directors in the formation of overall strategy and development of plans. The position also oversees the effectiveness of operations, including organizational development and structure, personnel policies and procedures, financial and operating policies, and general business practices of the agency. The Executive Director represents the organization in the organ and tissue donation and transplant community, ensuring effective engagement with the organization’s key stakeholders, including donor hospitals, transplant programs, other donation partners, and the public.

Requirements for the position are:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a health-related field required.
• Master’s degree in business or health care administration required.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in management/administration. OPO experience preferred.
