Transplant/VAD Nurse Practitioner
The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania is seeking a Transplant/VAD Nurse Practitioner. The position is responsible for the coordination of clinical care and educational needs of adult patients requiring circulatory support and transplant. This would include Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), Total Artificial Hearts (TAH) and the use of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) for the treatment of cardiogenic shock and to provide care, education and social services to patients across the continuum of care from medical management of heart failure to mechanical circulatory support to heart transplant.
Requirements:
Master’s Degree with Pennsylvania Board Certification as a CRNP or Physician Assistant. Three years of experience with cardiac transplant and/or mechanical circulatory support patients in the inpatient and outpatient care environments. Certification as a Clinical Transplant Coordinator required or must obtain within 18 months from date of hire. ACLS and BLS certification required.
