Transplant Administrator

Transplant Leadership Institute has been retained by University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to identify and recruit a Transplant Administrator for their world renown multi-organ transplant program. The position will oversee and lead operations of the transplant programs for adult patients (heart, lung, kidney, liver, pancreas, intestine) including quality, service, fiscal and human resources processes and responsibility for compliance with policies, standards, and regulations set forth by regulatory agencies. Other responsibilities include:

• Formulate strategic assessments and provide for improvements in Transplant service and develop plans for expansion of Transplant service. Advise the UPMC Executive Management Team and give guidance regarding critical issues and strategic direction. Maintain effective public relations programs.
• Manage partnership with Clinical and Administrative staff to identify opportunities for improving cost and quality of care. Monitor Transplant performance to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures. Recommends changes and innovations as appropriate.
• Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians, other medical center departments, community organizations, and other health care facilities in order to promote and insure growth of the program.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in Business or related field required.
Experience: Five years of healthcare administration experience with operational management, business planning and supervisory experience required. Transplant operations at the administrative leadership level highly preferred.
