Director of Operations

STAR teams is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the organization in an expansive phase of growth. STAR Teams is a group of transplant surgeons and professionals dedicated to providing organ recovery services with unparalleled expertise and experience from more than 1000 organ recoveries. Organ recovery services are currently offered to contracted transplant centers concentrated on the east-coast with the ambition to grow geographically also to other regions. The Director of Service Operations will be responsible for leading and managing the clinical and logistical aspects of organ recovery services in the USA. The position will oversee the delivery of high-quality organ recovery services, develop and manage external partnerships, and collaborate with the XVIVO commercial organization to develop and expand existing business and forward integration.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the clinical and logistical aspects of organ recovery services in the USA
• Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality organ recovery services
• Develop and manage partnerships with transplant centers, OPO:s and other stakeholders
• Collaborate with the XVIVO commercial organization in existing business expansion and forward integration
• Participate in strategic planning and development of new service offerings
• Ensure exceptional customer service, support and communication to clients
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, preferably in organ transplant services or OPO
• Demonstrated experience in managing and/or building a service organization, including logistics and supply chain management
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Understanding of healthcare regulations, reimbursement systems and compliance requirements
• Knowledge and understanding of the US organ transplant system
• Willingness to travel as needed
