Associate Vice President, Transplant Administration

Large Texas medical center is seeking an Associate Vice President, Transplant Administration. The position is responsible for directing and coordinating the development, administration, organization and control of abdominal organ transplantation services.  Ensures and facilitates open communication with all staff, to promote improved performance within the transplant service line .  Serves as a liaison among the surgeons, physicians, managers, nurses, and administration. This role has 4 direct reports, approximately 90 FTE’s and oversees both inpatient and outpatient areas. The AVP will oversee specifically: Abdominal Transplant Units (Transplant Surgical ICU and Transplant Acute Care Floor), Adult Dialysis, Kidney & Liver Procurement, Transplant Clinic, Transplant Outreach and Operations and Donor Recovery Center

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a Masters degree in nursing or a related field.

Experience /Knowledge / Skills:

Minimum of five (5) years of leadership and management experience in nursing and hospital operations and at least three (3) of them in a direct leadership role in a hospital setting or direct patient care environment.  Transplant leadership experience preferred.
