Director of Transplant Programs

Transplant Leadership Institute has been engaged by the University of Florida Health, located in beautiful Gainesville, Florida, to identify and recruit an experienced transplant administrator to lead their dynamic and growing multi-organ transplant program at UF Health Shands. The Director of Transplant Programs will oversee the strategic and operational aspects of the various transplant specialties and will have a focus on building and fostering strong physician relations and staff engagement. This position has management oversight of 85 FTE’s across the various transplant specialties. The director role will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the daily operations of the transplant programs at UF Health Shands and will be expected to provide leadership and management of the transplant programs with accountability for all aspects of planning, development, marketing and management of financial operations and personnel resources for transplant services. Ensures the delivery of quality patient care and advances the development of the transplant program to position UF Health Shands as the provider of choice. Works collaboratively with the Medical/Surgical Directors and Chiefs toward achieving outcomes consistent with the organizational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the transplant program.

Requirements for the position:

  • Master’s in business, nursing, or healthcare-related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership position within a transplant program.
  • Extensive knowledge of management of solid organ transplant programs inclusive of regulatory and compliance requirements associated with UNOS, CMS and Joint Commission, business administration, management, finance, accounting and budget management.
