Medical Director, Liver Transplantation

Transplant Leadership Institute LLC has been retained by Banner Health to identify and recruit a Medical Director for the Liver Transplant Program at Banner University Medical Center Tucson within the Banner University Medical Center Academic Division. The Medical Director will be specifically responsible for providing the leadership and developing the vision, strategy and execution for the growth and development of the Liver Transplant Program and associated advanced organ disease programs at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson.

The candidate must have completed a fellowship in Transplant Hepatology or possess significant experience in liver transplantation and must have satisfied the United Network for Organ Sharing requirements for designation as a primary liver transplant physician. Board certification in Gastroenterology required.  The successful candidate will possess specialized training in the management of patients with a variety of chronic liver diseases and decompensated end-stage liver disease as well as work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in the selection and care of pre- and postoperative transplant patients.

Qualified candidates will receive a faculty appointment to the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials. The candidate will also join as a member of the Liver Research Institute, funded by the State of Arizona to support liver disease related research ranging from investigator driven trials in cirrhosis to Pharma-supported hepatitis C and NASH trials. In their position, the candidate will be an integral part of medical education mission of the Department of Medicine.
