Medical Director of Liver Transplant

TLI has been retained by The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health Hume-Lee Transplant Center to identify and recruit a Medical Director of Liver Transplant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative leadership for the Liver Transplant program and clinical services in the liver transplant clinics at VCU Health System (VCUHS), to include both clinics on the Medical College of Virginia campus and in transplant outreach locations; participating in the inpatient management of pre and post liver transplant patients; participating as attending physician on the liver transplant service at VCUHS.

Administrative: Development of policies and practice guidelines to assure compliance with governing agencies.

Outreach: Develop strategy and goals for the transplant program and engage with community referring providers.

Performance Improvement: create and monitor liver transplant guidelines, policies, and protocols.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with pre and post liver transplant patients.

Qualifications are: Candidates must be board certified in Gastroenterology.  Transplant Hepatology certification preferred with specific expertise in the treatment and management of liver transplant patients, with emphasis in evaluation and post-transplant care. Candidate must meet requirements of UNOS for program director. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required.
