Clinical Hepatologist

The Division of GI/Hepatology at the Banner University Medical Center Tucson and Banner University Medical Group is seeking a Clinical Hepatologist to join its growing team in Tucson, Arizona.  The successful candidate will possess specialized training in the management of patients with a variety of chronic liver diseases and decompensated end-stage liver disease as well as work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in the selection and care of pre- and postoperative care of liver transplant patients.

The candidate must have significant experience in liver transplantation and ideally completed a fellowship in Transplant Hepatology. Board certification in Gastroenterology beneficial but not required.  Qualified candidates will receive a faculty appointment to the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials. The candidate will also join as a member of the Liver Research Institute, funded by the State of Arizona to support liver disease related research ranging from investigator driven trials in cirrhosis to Pharma-supported hepatitis C and NASH trials. In their position, the candidate will be an integral part of medical education mission of the Department of Medicine.

The candidate will practice at the Banner University Medical Center (BUMC), which has two units: University Campus and South Campus. The University Campus hospital is a 487-bed acute-care hospital and would serve as the primary site for the candidate.  The candidate would also join Banner University Medical Group, a large and growing multi-specialty group of academic physicians who provide expert consultative services as well as cutting-edge multi-disciplinary care to patients with liver disease.
